At Wilderness Safaris, we delight in sharing the wild places of Southern Africa with our guests in a responsible manner. These magnificent remote areas provide a means, for both our guests and ourselves, of reconnecting with our natural spirit – something often neglected and forgotten in the modern, fast-paced world in which we live. Our aim is to share what we have learnt over the years, on a journey that constantly changes our own lives, and which we hope will touch and change yours.
Between Kosi Bay and Sodwana Bay is an area that is completely unspoiled, without any development – and Rocktail Bay lies in its centre.
The secluded Rocktail Bay Lodge is situated just metres inland from the warm Indian Ocean, lying secretly in the coastal forest, and offers one of the most exclusive beach experiences in South Africa, with nearly 40 kilometres of pristine coastline. Rocktail Bay Lodge is the ideal escape for people who truly want to relax and unwind on one of the wildest coastlines anywhere on earth.
The Children in the Wilderness programme hosts children, aged between 8 and 17 years, in groups of up to 30 at a time, for periods of up to a week, at no cost to the school or children. The well structured curriculum is offered in a safe wilderness environment where nature becomes the teacher and the healer, aided by experienced and well-trained counselors.
Since 1991, the Sefofane team has been striving to provide a safe, efficient and reliable service to our guests. Today we operate a diverse fleet of aircraft. Almost all of the aircraft we operate are chosen because they are suitable for connecting remote bush destinations with small dirt airstrips. All these aircraft types are different in their characteristics and better suited to different types of trip and different group sizes, or groups with different personal needs.
The “Tour de Kruger and the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park” cycle tour is a five day/5 night mountain bike ride travelling through the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park in Mozambique and through the Makuleke / Pafuri region of northern Kruger National Park. This route is an exclusive for this tour and will be the only time that cyclists will be able to ride through these parks.
